Becoming a firefighter is a conscious decision to serve, to put other people’s needs above your own. A firefighter responds anytime someone calls 911. You are an all risk, all service person whose priorities are life safety, incident stabilization, and property conservation. You respond to fires, traffic collisions, medical aids, remote rescues, hazardous materials, conduct fire inspections, public education, etc.
